TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
I started drawing at an early age, and some of my influences back then were superhero stuff, anime and giant robots. I was introduced to western comic books when I was 12, and that was the major calling to fully immerse myself in drawing. I drew anywhere and everywhere, in any piece of paper, to school notebooks, to drawing on the ground with my friends using chalk .
My first paid comic project was in a local publishing FUNNY Komiks for kids.
From there, I was fortunate enough that my friend working for Dynamite Entertainment needed help inking in a series and I helped as a “ghost artist”. From there my first comic breakthrough was Issue #10 for Green Hornet 2012. I have done sketchcards also for Upperdeck Ent, Cryptozoic Ent also. Right now I work with MAZE Studio and and I am a freelance layout artist for an animation studio where we did work for Disney’s Big Hero 6, Warner Bros. Scooby Doo Guess Who and other shows such as Rick and Morty and Dragon Ball Z and much more!
WHY DO YOU WORK ON COMICS?
Because I love comics! I am a fan myself and I love that I can express myself and my emotions through art. It gives me motivation when it affects others positively when they look at art. If you draw a character that someone recognizes it creates a nostalgic effect to the person appreciating the art pieces.
Art is powerful, art is love.
WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN?
“Don’t afraid to do something you like… experiment, be curious, look around and observe…. transform it to art, and always be positive in life . “
For new artists, attend in an Art conventions and Comic Conventions. Meet new people! Gather skills, information and talk to some artists .
Always ask if you don’t know and always give THANKS to the people that help you improve on your craft and skills.
WHO ARE YOUR BIGGEST INFLUENCES?
Most of my influences are western comic artists and manga artists.
WHAT MEDIUMS DO YOU USE TO MAKE ART?
I work in traditional art. But with the huge shift in technology, most of my current and new pieces are digitally created. It’s easier to manipulate and meet tight deadlines. When I have more time, I love creating art pieces in the traditional sense.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
To create new art and always the fans and people who appreciate my work. Understanding that my art work can make someone happy and put a smile on their face, that always inspires me.
WHAT ARE THINGS THAT YOU LIKE?
I love going to conventions, meet new people and collect toys. In my free time I also live to watch documentary, read comics and manga. And yes! Video games with my friends, specially the retro ones that I never played before.
